Kai, has been sailing competitively from the age of 10. Growing up in Busselton, South Western Australia. His sailing career began at the Geographe Bay Yacht Club before moving onto High Performance youth sailing on the Nacra 15. Sailing the 15 he raced in events throughout Australia, Singapore and Europe. Since 2019 Kai has sailed with Gav on the F18, becoming an integral part of Redline Racing, and without doubt helping secure top World Championship results. Kai is currently with American Magic for the 37th Americas Cup.
Josie Mark is a talented sailor and a specialist crew for the Hobie 16. She began her sailing journey in dinghy classes as a child, developing her skills before teaming up with Hobie 16 expert Darren Smith in her teenage years. Josie has competed in world championships and events around the globe, with a career highlight being her victory at the 2014 Hobie 16 World Championship alongside Gav—an achievement in one of the largest Hobie 16 championships in history. Her dedication and expertise have made her a formidable presence in the sailing community.
Mia is a young and talented sailor who has made waves in the world of sailing. Starting her journey in the Optimist and Laser dinghy classes, she quickly established herself by winning multiple state and national titles. Her natural ability and dedication propelled her to success in youth sailing competitions.
Now, Mia is the skipper of the Miami Race Team at the Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club. The team is all-female focused, though flexible to include mixed-gender members, competing in Match Racing events. Mia's versatility as a sailor was further highlighted when she stepped into the role of crew for Gav on a Hobie 16. Together, they won a Hobie 16 State Championship, showcasing her adaptability and quick learning on any boat.
In addition to her competitive achievements, Mia is an accomplished sailing coach and charter yacht skipper. She is also deeply committed to coaching sailors with disabilities, using her skills and empathy to ensure that sailing is accessible to everyone. Her passion for the sport extends to teaching and guiding others on the water, where her leadership and inclusive approach continue to inspire a new generation of sailors.
